- David Fuselier, Chairman
- David Fuselier is a former executive with Citibank’s Latin American Investment Bank, First Investor’s and TWA and for seven years operated Dove Aviation. While at Citibank, he was an analyst in the loan syndication department; focusing specifically on loans to Latin American countries and government-owned industries. As a senior fuel buyer at TWA, he managed, bid, and contracted to purchase over 40MM barrels ($1.5BN) of jet fuel, gasolines, chemicals and lubricants, annually worldwide.
- Dove was the largest independent wholesaler of Texaco and Union Carbide aviation chemicals east of the Mississippi – supplying over 100 airports and most major and commuter airlines. Through its two subsidiaries, Aviation Fuel Supply and Air East, Dove distributed wholesale fuels in thirteen states and provided retail services at seven airports on the east coast; including ground handling, aircraft fueling, engine maintenance, cargo warehousing and charter services utilizing its 17 company aircraft.
- Since that time, Mr. Fuselier has invested in petroleum, waste and environmental companies such as a regional home heating oil retailer, a leading retail petroleum maintenance company (providing facility maintenance to over 3,000 retail outlets) and several private and public waste companies.
- Mr. Fuselier is a graduate of Louisiana State University (MSJ) and Louisiana College (BA).
- Stephen Clevett, Chief Executive Officer
- Stephen Clevett is a recognized leader in the energy industry sector with over two
decades of commercial experience developing, financing and restructuring transactions
and projects for both domestic and international clients. His credentials include
key management, development and financing roles in dozens of large-scale power
generation projects as well as several well-publicized energy sector mergers
and acquisitions.
- Prior to the formation of the Optimira Energy Group, Mr. Clevett served as president
of Beacon Integrated Solutions, a consulting firm specializing in energy management
and controls.
- For several years, he also served as senior vice president and general manager of
Noresco, a utility-owned energy services company (ESCO). He had overall responsibility
for Noresco’s entire energy infrastructure group that included both construction and
asset management activities involving a diverse project portfolio in both the US and
Latin America.
- Before joining Noresco, Mr. Clevett was president of EnergyWorks North America –
a Bechtel-owned developer and asset manager of on-site power projects for multinational
industrials. Earlier in his career, he held other various positions within the Bechtel Enterprises Group – including the director of mergers and acquisitions at US
Generating Company, an independent power producer.
- Mr. Clevett started his career as an engineer for Hess Corporation at the St. Croix
refinery and later joined Jersey Central Power & Light as a cogeneration applications
engineer. He was also a member of the project finance teams of The Bank of New
York and Sanwa Bank, both in New York City.
- Niel Cavanaugh, Chief Financial Officer
- Niel Cavanaugh is recognized as a broad-gauged manager with a record of key accomplishments
in all phases of management. For the past 17 years, he has served as the chairman of the board of Multi-Pak Corporation.
- Prior to his arrival at Multi-Pak, Mr. Cavanaugh was the president and chief operating
officer of the Bethlehem Corporation whose principle products included large dryers
for the chemical process industry and missile tubes for the tomahawk missile.
- Earlier in his career, Mr. Cavanaugh served as the corporate controller of Sandvik, Inc.,
a global industrial group as well as the executive vice president of Sandvik Process
Systems whose expertise includes the design and installation of steel belt systems for
chemical plants. Mr. Cavanaugh also served as controller for the NRM Corporation and
the Pratt & Whitney division of Colt Industries Inc.
- Richard McCarthy, General Manager, Commercial & Government Energy Services
- Richard McCarthy is a seasoned sales director for energy-related technologies focused
on large-scale commercial and government projects. Prior to joining Optimira, Mr.
McCarthy served as a regional manager for Trane, a worldwide manaufacturer of heating,
ventilating and building management equipment and systems. Mr. McCarthy had full
P&L responsibility fo Trane’s HVAC service group.
- Earlier in his career, he was a division general manager at Service Experts which is a
division of Lennox International (a Fortune 500). He was responsible for developing
and providing HVAC and IAQ solutions to both the residential and commercial markets.
Rich also served as the division manager for RISE Engineering, responsible for
providing solution-based, planned maintenance, retrofits and installation of HVAC technologies
for residential, industrial, commercial and institutional facilities.
- Mr. McCarthy has also worked in the HVAC division of Keyspan Energy Services, one
of the largest distributors of natual gas in the US, as well as the HVAC divisions of
Concord Equipment Corp and Flexcon Industries.
- Jeff Volkers, General Manager, Optimira Controls
- Jeff Volkers joined Optimira Controls as the company’s first president when the company
was created by the Rose Technology Group in 1997, with responsibility for all aspects of
the business relating to administration, finance, sales, marketing, distribution, engineering,
operations and service. To date, Mr. Volkers has been instrumental in the successful
development and construction of over 700 projects within the federal, provincial,
municipal, educational, commercial and residential sectors.
- Before joining Optimira Controls, he was the Canadian sales and operations manager for
Invensys. P&L responsibilities at Invensys included all aspects relating to sales,
marketing, service and retrofit operations.
- Mr. Volkers began his career at Johnson Controls as an account executive, responsible
for business development in new construction, retrofit, building services and energy
performance contracting.
- Doug Woodward, General Manager, Industrial Energy Services
- Doug Woodward has over 13 years’ experience in developing client-focused industrial
projects – working for Cinergy Solutions (Duke Energy), Emcor Facility Services, and
Air Systems, Inc. During his tenure at Cinergy Solutions, Mr. Woodward spearheaded
projects for Procter & Gamble, General Motors and Subaru Automotive among others.
- He was specifically responsible for the marketing and business development of
Cinergy Solutions’ Industrial Utility Cost Reduction Initiatives; projects encompassed
co-generation, alternate fuel site infrastructure improvements, facility optimization
strategies, and demand-side cost reductions. In his managerial capacity for these projects,
Mr. Woodward directed engineers and project managers, project development and
contract development through sign-off and completion.
- Mr. Woodward began his career as an engineer, marketing Ingersoll-Rand compressed
air equipment to industrial and commercial accounts.
- George Emsurak, Managing Director, Technical Services
- George Emsurak has over twenty-five years of technical solutions and project implementation
expertise. He has held key positions with Noresco, EnergyWorks, Bechtel, John
Brown, Gulf Oil, and the United States Navy Civil Engineers Corp.
- Throughout Mr. Emsurak’s broad career, he has focused on technical project development
and the implementation and commissioning of energy infrastructure projects, both
large-scale generation as well as demand-side programs. He has also served in a senior
management capacity – spearheading the conception and detailed engineering, contract
negotiation and management, construction, start-up, commissioning, operations, environmental
compliance issues, and the safety/health guidelines for given energy infrastructure
projects from 1 MWe to 1000 MWe.
- John McFadden, Managing Director, Project Finance
- John McFadden is a thirty-year financial and investment banking veteran. He specifically
specializes in the implementation of complex structured and project financing solutions
for nationally recognized healthcare and institutional clients.
- Mr. McFadden has served as a principal with select investment banking advisory boutiques,
the Wadsworth Group and Cambridge Partners, specializing in project and structured
finance. Clients include financial institutions, utilities, and energy companies.
- And as a twenty-year veteran of the investment banking firm First Boston, Mr. McFadden
held key executive roles including Treasurer. In this capacity, he managed the activities
of the firm through its merger with Credit Suisse. Earlier in his career at First Boston,
he led the firm’s growth in public finance, specifically in the arena of tax-exempt
municipal finance.
- Ernie Dageford, Chief Technologist
- Ernie Dageford has over 30 years of experience with a broad array of energy savings
and control systems. He has surveyed, designed retrofits and installed energy savings
systems, and monitored and verified energy savings for clients such as Hyatt Hotels,
Hilton Hotels, Sheraton Hotels, May Company Malls, Tishman Speyers, and ES Gordon.
- Prior to joining Optimira, he was the chief technologist for RESCO, LLC (a real estate
energy service company), specifically designing and developing proprietary software that
analyzes the energy efficiency of buildings. Earlier in his career, Mr. Dageford held the
positions of president/CEO for AIM Energy, Inc., president of Climatron Inc. (computerized
controls for monitoring buildings), and president/CEO of Eltec Controls.
